Jungheinrich is a German company founded in 1953 in Hamburg, known worldwide as one of the largest manufacturers of forklifts and warehouse systems. Alongside its well-known electric forklifts, Jungheinrich develops and produces a full range of warehouse racking — from simple pallet racking to fully automated high-bay warehouses with their own stacker cranes. In Belgium, Jungheinrich racking is popular in distribution centres, production facilities and cold-chain logistics, and regularly becomes available through company reorganisations and closures.
What is Jungheinrich?
Jungheinrich AG was founded in 1953 by Friedrich Jungheinrich in Hamburg. Today the company operates in more than 40 countries, with production sites in Germany, France, Italy and China. Jungheinrich is the only supplier on the market to offer a fully integrated package: its own forklifts (ETV, EKX, EMR), its own warehouse racking (PR, MR, CR series) and its own warehouse management software — all tuned for maximum cooperation between vehicle and racking.
The distinctive colour scheme — dark blue uprights with yellow beams — makes Jungheinrich racking instantly recognisable. The structures are known for their high precision, robustness and compatibility with narrow-aisle forklifts and automated stacker cranes for high-bay warehouses up to 45 m.
Jungheinrich racking product range
PR 200 — standard pallet racking
Jungheinrich's most common racking for wide-aisle and narrow-aisle applications. Single-deep or double-deep configuration, direct access to every pallet position. Upright pitch 75 mm, load capacity up to 1,500 kg per pallet position (standard). Ideal for distribution centres, production facilities and logistics hubs. Certified to EN 15512.
PR 600 — high-bay pallet racking
For high-bay warehouses up to 45 m. The PR 600 is designed for use with Jungheinrich EKX stacker cranes and combines extremely high loads (up to 3,000 kg per pallet position) with millimetre precision in tall warehouses. Upright pitch 50 mm, self-supporting construction for high stability. Standard choice in automated high-bay warehouses.
MR 600 — mobile racking (Movirack)
The MR 600 system places pallet racking on motorised tracks, reducing the number of aisles to just one. This delivers space savings of up to 85% compared to conventional racking. Ideal for cold storage, archives and warehouses where storage density is the top priority. Operated via a central panel or RFID system.
CR 600 — drive-in racking
For storing large quantities of homogeneous goods using the LIFO principle. The forklift drives into the channel along rail guides. Particularly efficient for seasonal storage, cold rooms and freezers. Jungheinrich standardly pairs this racking with its own EFG and TFG counterbalance forklifts for optimal channel sizing.
DC 600 — double-deep racking
The DC 600 increases storage density by placing pallets two deep, with the second pallet accessed via a reach truck extension or telescopic forks. Halves the number of aisles without going fully drive-in. Ideal when FIFO storage is less critical and floor space utilisation is the priority.
Automated storage systems (AS/RS)
Jungheinrich integrates its PR 600 racking with automated EKX 516–516k stacker cranes for fully autonomous warehouse operations. The system is controlled by Jungheinrich WMS and communicates directly with ERP systems. Used Jungheinrich automation systems are especially valuable after company takeovers and reorganisations.

Frequently asked questions about Jungheinrich racking
Is Jungheinrich racking compatible with other forklift brands?
Yes. Jungheinrich pallet racking is dimensioned to EN 15512 as standard and is therefore compatible with forklifts of any brand. The PR 200 works with aisle widths of 2,700 to 3,000 mm, suitable for standard counterbalance and reach trucks. The PR 600 is designed for narrow-aisle and AS/RS applications but can also be manually operated with a suitable narrow-aisle forklift (e.g. EKM/EKS/VNA types).
What makes used Jungheinrich racking recognisable and valuable?
The distinctive dark blue/yellow colour scheme and the high manufacturing precision. Jungheinrich manufactures in Germany with strict quality control — even used units have very tight dimensional tolerances. This makes them popular for replacing or extending existing installations: parts are interchangeable and the structure retains its load capacity for years with correct maintenance and inspection.
Can I combine Jungheinrich racking with an automated system?
Yes, the PR 600 series in particular is designed for this. When MagazijnService supplies a used Jungheinrich high-bay installation, we also guide the integration with existing or new automation systems — including aligning the uprights to millimetre precision as required by stacker cranes and transstockers.
